A Licensed Clinical Social Worker and former Marine, Jim works with the VA and at Family SOS to help clients manage their problems and concerns. Jim helps you — as an individual, couples or family — tap into your existing strengths. Jim will help you find resources from within that enable you to make significant improvements in all areas of life.
His primary expertise is helping military veterans and first responders including police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other medical professionals cope and heal from the effects of experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss. That experience expands his empathy and clinical expertise to all areas of emotional concerns.
His primary goal is to help clients feel better as quickly as possible while making changes necessary to manage life’s ups and downs more effectively. Jim has a warm and caring approach that provides clients with a safe, confidential environment that enhances growth and healing.

Jim earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Loyola University. He served in the US Marines for 6 years and has 15 years of post-graduate experience working for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
